Two weeks ago The Free Press let a whiner publish 2000 words ab how I got his book review cEnsoReD. It was pure nonsense from the moment it went out—but I spent the next 14 days trying to get them to post an Editor’s Note and admit reality. They won’t. open.substack.com/pub/agentsof...

Behemoth and his beds #caturday. The grey striped thing is a human toddler camping bed. He is about as long as a 5yo kid is tall.

That’s a very polite way of putting it :)

It’s amazing how uncomfortable ppl on the left remain about frontrunning bullshit-artist propagandists who send them lists of stupid questions and clearly plan to smear them. Maybe this is lived experience earned over a decade but: you don’t have to reply, and if you do, make it work for you.

"The striking thing about the current system is how much informational power is concentrated, and how seemingly small, opaque decisions can have significant downstream effects."

Shellenberger is a longtime well-known bad faith hack who works directly w/powerful minders to spin specific narratives. He is a PR flack, not a journalist. However, because he describes himself as a journalist with “2 million followers across platforms” people who aren’t familiar often respond.

If this quote from an EU spokesperson is authentic, it would be an outright scandal! Scince when is it a condition for any organizer to align the content of an event with the „official positions held by the EU“ to receive financial support? Are you kidding me?

For those who don’t know, the State Dept appears to have pressured Lithuanian, French, & other attendees of a conference in Vilnius this week.

Shellenberger was suddenly concurrently in all of the attendees’ inboxes. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hugo Chavez-linked PR flack Michael Shellenberger — a random guy with a Substack who rakes in donations to fight a “censorship complex” that he created — would like you to know that journalists reporting on his attempts to smear people are propagandists.

Lithuania's foreign ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment. EU Disinfolab declined to comment.
"If you believe that emailing questions to government officials and others constitutes
'pressure,' then you are a propagandist and a toady and should stop misrepresenting yourself as a journalist," Shellenberger told Rapporteur.
An EEAS spokesperson said: "The reason for the request to remove the logo of the EEAS was that organisers chose to frame some of the discussions in a way which does not align with the official positions held by the EU. "
Global Affairs Canada did not respond to questions about its decisions to withdraw support.

This is a thing confirmed by research, to an extent. It’s also why ensuring content shows up in retrieval and in training data is the new battleground.

Unpopular opinion: LLMs are generally deradicalizing people whose beliefs are based on pure propaganda. I've been watching this happen slowly with some people I care about. ChatGPT is one of the reasons they finally accept that the NRA, OAN, and NewsMax are lying to them.
