@elizablackstock.bsky.socialHis histo has made healing his skin difficult. The vet isn't worried because it doesn't look infected. We bought him a lil pet shirt/onesie yesterday so we can keep the owie covered but breathable. Keep sending him your love and healing energy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@elizablackstock.bsky.social—theyll start weaning him off his fluids. And if he does well with THAT, we can bring him home ❤️ We originally brought him in on Thursday because we found a giant open wound on his side/back, THEN discovered the kidney issue. They've stitched the wound, but it has started to open a little again.
@elizablackstock.bsky.socialJoseph is visually improving again today. He ate all his food, drank lots of water, and used the bathroom overnight. The vet is technically closed today so we can't visit, but he'll be getting care all day. They'll retest his blood work tomorrow. If his kidney levels are still improving—

@elizablackstock.bsky.socialWe brought him his favorite pillow and cuddled until closing time. There are vets and techs taking care of him tonight and tomorrow, and we can come visit again on Monday. I love this guy so frickin much

The vet will keep him this weekend to continue administering fluids and medication. We're going to see him later today ❤️ thank you everyone for thinking of him

@elizablackstock.bsky.socialThis is probably a crime in at least three countries, but we just added garlic butter and Parmesan to our scallion pancakes and it's a winner

@elizablackstock.bsky.socialWe brought him some of his favorite treats, and he ate a little for us. He curled up on my hand and purred up a storm and made some lil biscuits while Chris gave him scritches. I hope his blood work tomorrow points even further in the right direction
