A new federal rule weakens the Endangered Species Act by redefining "harm" to wildlife.

This change makes it much harder to protect the habitats that endangered species need to survive.

Our team has rehabilitated and released six previously sick, injured, and orphaned southern sea otters this year. Over 1,000 sea otters have come through our doors for medical treatment since 1984 when our Sea Otter Program was created.

Every sea otter deserves a second chance! In 2025, we opened our Sea Otter Conservation Center. Thanks to donor support, this state-of-the-art facility features two new holding tanks and two exam rooms, allowing us to provide critical care to more southern sea otters in need.

The leaping blenny hops from rock to rock, and can launch itself through the air up to 50 times its body length. You can find them in tide pools, on rocky coasts, and, starting November 7, you’ll be able to see leaping blennies in action at our all-new Ocean in Motion/La Danza del Mar exhibit.
