Re Ilhan Omar Worth your time: Oct 1992 letter from Republican US Attorney on an investigatory step before election: "[I]t amounts to prosecutorial misconduct and violates the most basic fundamental rule of Department of Justice policy. I cannot be a party to such actions."
2/ link to the Department of Justice Inspector General Report:
With Ilhan Omar search: DOJ Inspector General report (on Comey's misdeeds): "[V]arious witnesses testified that the Department has a longstanding unwritten practice to avoid overt law enforcement and prosecutorial activities close to an election, typically within 60 or 90 days of Election Day."
And this from last month when it was known that the U.S. sanctions were likely forthcoming:
By Current and Former Presidents of the International Criminal Court Assembly of State Parties
"We will continue to work together to support the Court’s vital work, uphold the rules-based international system, and advance accountability."
JOINT STATEMENT OF THE FOREIGN MINISTERS OF CANADA, DENMARK, GERMANY, FRANCE, ITALY, JAPAN, THE NETHERLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM "As committed supporters of the ICC we regret and strongly disagree with the announcement of sanctions to be imposed upon the Court by the United States."
"Stephen Miller asked the bureau to allow agents to go undercover in his Virginia neighborhood's political activist group, several sources with knowledge of the matter told CBS News."
"NPR spoke to an official at a government contractor .... He spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation from the government. 'No one that we spoke to at DHS was for this idea whatsoever. ... Everybody knew warehouses are horrible places to put people.'"
Stephen "Miller did not want the facilities that were comfortable. He did not want facilities that were humane. We were told point-blank that that was not what the administration wanted."
"This is not the first time ICE has been challenged for violating the religious liberty rights of its detainees. There is a well documented pattern of publicly available challenges to ICE’s policies—at its own facilities as well as contractor facilities .... The examples are myriad."
"The ICE Defendants have substantially burdened the religious exercise of the detainees, the Archbishop, and Father Schroeder through their weakening of religious-liberty protections for contractor facilities and their deliberate indifference to widespread, foreseeable violations."
The "detention center manages to commit both sins by imposing a visitation policy that prevents Catholic priests from meaningfully ministering to Catholic federal detainees housed there (while readily allowing exceptions to the policy for non-religious reasons)."
"The Archdiocese of St. Louis has filed a lawsuit ... claims that the Ste. Genevieve County Jail and ICE have violated the First Amendment rights of immigrant detainees by preventing Catholic priests from delivering communion, hearing confessions and celebrating Mass."
3/3 Read for yourself.
Official statistics referenced in my first post:
2/ Truth: "Through the first three quarters of 2026, Chicago is on pace for fewer homicides than it recorded in 2025, a year that closed with the city’s fewest recorded killings in 60 years. ... That’s also the fewest homicides in any September dating back to 2010, according to CPD records."
On the left: President Trump false claims of violent crime in Chicago (as prelude for laying a pretext) On the right: Most recent official stats showing Chicago success in back-to-back years of historic reductions in violent crimes
Note the authors make a persuasive argument that the Supreme Court's immunity ruling would not cover a president or other executive branch officials' conduct in this fact pattern.
The president would not only be likely committing a crime but inducing voters to commit a crime. "If payments were in fact made, voters who had made their decision 'in consideration' of receiving such funds might also face [criminal] exposure under Section 597."
Solidarity
"After deciding this weekend to block Politico from riding on Air Force One, White House staffers called numerous outlets to ask one to fill the primary print slot for the out-of-town pool rotation .... Each of those outlets declined to step in."
The USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier and its strike group is "expected to arrive ... around mid-November." The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, including its three amphibious ships ... is expected to arrive ... by the end of November."
