My library was dukedom enough. Novels: Red Pill, White Tears, Blue Ruin, Gods Without Men, My Revolutions, Transmission, The Impressionist. Essays in NYRB, Harper’s etc. Abolish ICE, demolish the arch.

A wealth of resources here for anyone trying to understand what’s happening in India.

Modi has lost it. "The govt has responded by massively increasing the security presence in the capital. Around thirty thousand police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed, internet services have been disrupted, trains to Delhi have been cancelled, metro stations and roads have been closed."

Other possibility is that they have locally hosted models and they’re feeding your stuff to those? Wondering how these models will ultimately be used

@harikunzru.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 7:19 PM

I assume that publishers aren’t doing this since they’re also taking 50% of the Anthropic settlement money as compensation for exactly that

The idea of some junior publicist blithely uploading years of my work to save themselves some writing time is not a happy thing to contemplate

@harikunzru.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 7:13 PM

Apart from signaling that they didn’t really want to engage with the work, to make the copy they almost certainly would have fed the ms into a model …

@harikunzru.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 4:16 PM

And (most likely) to feed your authors’ mss to a model to generate it

It is wild the degree to which being on Bluesky (as opposed to Twitter, which feels like walking into the clamour of an Indian railway station) feels like hitting mute on India right now, with the whole nation at a turning point.

If my publisher were to hand me LLM back cover copy I would definitely be looking to move.

So far everyone seems to think Navi Pillay is a worthy winner of the Nobel Peace prize except the Mad King and a government currently conducting a genocide.

If there were an award for lies, hatred, and blood libels, Navi Pillay wouldn't just be a contender. She'd be a frontrunner.
Her role in the relentless, politically motivated demonization of Israel and promotion of the genoLIE speaks volumes.
Awarding Pillay the Nobel Peace Prize isn't a recognition of justice. It's the grotesque weaponization of an award to legitimize anti-Israel hatred and prejudice.
Now that the Nobel commission has rewarded the biggest lie of the 21st century, Joseph Goebbels is certainly applauding from hell.

The appropriate level of alarm about this stuff is still as high as it was ten years ago. Grounds for impeachment and removal. Every Republican should be asked about it.

So happy that my former NYU colleague Anne Carson has won the literature Nobel. She used to run a class that involved physical improv (confronting for MFA writing students). I taught straight after her, moving the tables back and wishing I too had spent three hours with Anne being a tree

For our symposium on "The Forever War and the First Amendment," @knightcolumbia.org and @harpers.bsky.social co-commissioned this essay from @harikunzru.bsky.social about art and censorship after 9/11. It's really good, and I'm hoping Hari will turn it into a book. harpers.org/archive/2026...
