Oh no. That has to be awful. I'm sorry. Wondering if I could hear it. My hearing loss is in the frequency range of most human voices. So I can't hear most people... and sometimes I am ok with that actually 😆

Maybe stick some felt pads soaked with lavender (cats also dislike lavender I remembered) into the seat cushions? Or beside the seat cushions..... it might keep them off. And I think there is a sonic repellent out there as well. Although I have never needed one, so I am not sure how they work.

Yeah. I bet pepper is not very fun to sit in. Wonder if small containers with some essential oils would help? Like salt shakers for example. They have openings. So you could put them out there to keep the cats away. You may not have to reapply every day then. Not sure if your setup allows for that.

There are some natural cat detergents, if you would like to try it. They do not like strong scents like citronella or eucalyptus. There were a few other, but I can't remember. You can probably Google though. Maybe try that around your seating areas?

I am a cat lady myself. We have 3 indoor only cats. Because I also refuse to let my cats participate in the ravishing of our local eco system. The downstairs neighbour let's hers out and we find dead birds, mice and snakes every day. Domestic cats are a huge threat to biodiversity.
