Now that Denny Way is much less of an issue for the L8 we're really going to need to do something about E John/Olive Way.

Engineering is one hurdle here, sure...on top of political reality, community opposition, and yeah, those downstream impacts.

Do you think any of those ideas are *currently* feasible ones?

I'm trying to figure out if this ferries captain who wrote a Times op-ed about the sick-out actually thinks we could build bridges to replace state ferry routes.

Washington created its ferry system in 1951 as a stopgap until bridges were built. In 1992, Vashon islanders turned out by the thousands against a proposed bridge because they wanted to stay small. That’s their right, but it has a price, and taxpayers statewide are paying it. If the state won’t pay to run ferries properly, it should build the bridges or ask the counties that chose ferries to share the cost. What it can’t do is keep running ferries on the cheap and explaining canceled sailings.

I'm not going to say that Georgetown Art Attack is better than First Thursday – why pit them against each other? – but man is it a fun time down there on Second Saturday.

The project's scope hasn't been fully defined. But utility upgrades and infrastructure repairs are also good things to spend public dollars on.

When the transfers line up and a trip from the U District to Georgetown takes a neat 35 minutes...chef's kiss.

The Jackson Legacy Fund is also spending in support of Jesse Salomon and David Hackney and spent for Amy Walen in the primary.

Jayapal's endorsement of Kelabe Tewolde comes just as the IEs start to spend on behalf of Sharon Tomiko Santos, with the Jackson Legacy Fund (which usually supports more centrist candidates) reporting a $82,000 spend yesterday.

I don't know what a "local zoning board" is. Do you mean a planning commission?

I have been waiting for Sound Transit to post this video, but it seems extra relevant given some discussions happening today... Claudia Balducci on recent Metro/ST service changes and the unintended consequences of trying to adjust bus service to serve riders better.

This didn't get any traction when we released it earlier this week, but here is the Rainier Valley Safe Streets position on the R.

I spent a lot of time working on a story about the RapidRide R so I'm just going to reshare it and leave it at that.
