100%
Gotta say, it cracks me up a little bit that I've been talking about Brooks on the regular for +21 years on my blog (& podcast for +15 yrs) & have rarely gotten more than 6-8 comments per post on any of it :-)
Here's a sample: Brooks filing a police report.
Fun fact: He's Canadian by birth.
That's about a mile from my house.
done. thanks.
The Tone Police will be out in battalions.
And use his position in Conservative media to gleefully slag anyone who opposed the war. Later on, when everything Liberals had warned about came to pass, he flat out lie about ever writing any such thing. And I have that exchange on film.
The force behind scuttling most Progressive initiatives and, for years, the Never Trumpers favorite Democrat.
Good riddance.
I don’t care about brooks or what cush sinecure he has. He’s wrong. It’s a dumb point. And Collins campaign is literally stocked with Nazis. To any of this gate keeping tut tutting just stfu.
Amid ballooning inflation and corruption, it's getting harder and harder to find MAGA diehards in the diners of Trump country. But after much effort, we did. Here are their personal stories, their opinions, and what Democrats must do to understand them.
You have that backwards. The base of the GOP has been this way for decades. They finally voted themselves a leader who represents who they truly are.
Both Gerson and Frum were Bush speechwriters.
Brooks left the times & is now being paid by The Atlantic. And the Aspen Institute. And PBS. And Yale (Presidential Senior Fellow). And endless speaking gigs. And...well, you get the idea.
One of which I have on my shelf. He's blunt about the history of the GOP and what he was wrong about, which I've written & podcast about many times. But to my knowledge, no NTer has ever said, "Y'know, the Left was right." To them, we either don't exist at all, or are still punching bags.
The Tone Police never sleep.
It's *always* "...but the democrats."
How many times do Liberals have to have been shown to have been right about the Right all along before any Never Trumper anywhere will admit that, yep, shoulda listened to those Liberals who'd been warning about the trajectory of the GOP decades?
