Been on a bit of a Portishead binge lately..
Always loved them.
That Live album just breaks my heart every single time.

I will never tire of this

'Ba-da-boom! Another £45.50' Someone just bought ALL my digital albums from Bandcamp! Sadly I am on a prolonged period of abstinence from alcohol at the moment - was tempted to crack open the 6 month old bubbles in fridge but will have a cup of herbal tea instead! Thanks to whomever it was!

100% this. Some amazing stuff out there that flew under the radar.

I totally agree. Music certainly doesn't get the attention that it did. Spending time to really get to know an album can be rare these days. One of my favorite albums I bought on CD when I was skint and didn't like at first. I listened to it repeatedly until it made sense. Not sure I'd do that now.

With that in mind, can we do some posts / recommendations of albums from Bandcamp that are 5 years old and over, by independent artists that we really rate and should be more well known?

I'll nominate this overlooked beauty from 2021 alexagreenscreen.bandcamp.com/album/curvat...

It's great that #BandcampFriday exists, we can all make some extra pocket money but I often feel we skip through new music with such regularity really good albums get lost in the rush.
We should start going back over releases from recent years and revisit and discover new music that way as well.

First AO album I heard, & I'm damn glad I did. This album is lush & I'm glad it led me to his other albums. All are engaging. Recommended.

The My 9 Albums thing.. Wanted to add some that weren't listed so had to go with these..

a grid from https://www.my9albums.com/ where you select 9 albums you rate and its makes a poster of them!

#BandcampFriday
Released back in June, Dream States is the sound of a piano dreaming, of synths in REM sleep! An ambient and electronic soundscape across 88 keys!
I think its rather lovely. I still have CDs available.
Support grass roots artists!

In March 2027 it will be 100 years since the UK release of Metropolis. I have a few special gigs lined up where I'll perform my soundtrack whilst screening a rare 1 hour version of the film.
Still taking bookings if anyone is interested... See promo clips here:

There's nothing online yet! It's still coming together! London on March 21st on the Theatre Boat in Docklands. Newcastle and Birkenhead. Sorting out others. Should be Norwich as well but not arranged that! Won't announce till January anyway!

I haven't been on here much! How is everyone? I am having what I've been calling an Autumn Audio Audit, even though it started in the summer. Sorting out all the music and field recordings on my various hard drives, seeing what promising unfinished stuff I have and making lists!

I just reminded about the 000 Space website, to which I made a track way back in 2023... There are 250 track connections here and some amazing sounds...

Oh good luck for the move! I'll fondly remember D&G, the impressive Cairnsmore and the two Dark Outside broadcasts I visited at Murrays Monument and meeting you and your wife! Sadly on two visits I never once saw a star in the sky!
