Anthony Comstock: Morality crusader. Professional hater. Dildo hoarder. He collected porn, sex toys, and books. And he showed them to Congress to sell lawmakers on the Comstock Act, an 1873 law which conservatives could use to ban abortion nationwide. New Baby Boom! Lawyered Out now.

Consent isn’t complicated. If they don’t say yes, don’t. If they can’t say yes, don’t. And if you see someone being harmed, don’t just watch. Step in or get help. Here’s how to start teaching this to your kids now, so they carry it to college.

While we await a federal ruling on a potential telehealth abortion ban, anti-abortion activists are preparing plans for laws that would require women to go to a doctor's office, have an ultrasound, or wait before receiving the abortion pills.

Ohio. North Carolina. Michigan. All three states have open supreme court seats on the ballot this November—and whoever wins will rule on abortion access and trans rights for years. These races matter. Rewire News Group partnered with @us.theconversation.com on this explainer. Here's what's at stake.

RNG is partnering up w/other newsrooms to cover the midterms. There's many races and high-stakes issues to follow; independent outlets can do more by working together.

We worked with @us.theconversation.com on this judicial races explainer. Stay tuned for our next collab, with @fullerproject.org

Wanna know what fetal personhood is? It's giving fertilized eggs, embryos, and fetuses a constitutional right to life which competes with the pregnant person's. Then a medical decision can become a fight between two “people,” w/ the state acting as referee. Guess who loses? (The pregnant person.)

New Baby Boom! Lawyered episode, “What the Hell Is Fetal Personhood?” is out now.

Most women will go through menopause, yet fewer than 4,000 physicians are certified by the Menopause Society. @jweisswolf.bsky.social's new book, out today, argues that's no accident. It's a policy failure.

My perimenopause and I loved chatting with Jennifer Weiss-Wolf about her new book, When In Menopause. It's out today! Weiss-Wolf believes that women are people whose dignity and wellbeing matter (radical!)--and that in healthy democracy, that fact makes menopause a public policy matter.

Daycare for two kids costs more than the median annual rent in 47 states. Nearly 60% of Gen Z voters want more federal spending on childcare, more than any other age group, per a new @19thnews.org and YouGov poll.

New Baby Boom! Lawyered: In a SCOTUS filing this week, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas likened the mailing of abortion pills to mailing anthrax or mail bombs. (Only one of those has FDA approval.) The ban states are challenging New York, California, and Massachusetts' telehealth shield laws.

The ban states are making a fetal personhood argument about injury to their residents. I walk through why the ban states’ claims echo the Fugitive Slave Act— and why Black women have always paid the price when this country fights over who counts as a person. New Baby Boom! Lawyered. Out now.

There isn't a single trans woman in the WNBA. In 2024, the NCAA estimated fewer than 10 of its 510,000 athletes were trans—about 0.002%, or 1 in 51,000. Yet trans athletes are a defining culture war issue of the 2026 midterms. It's a manufactured panic, writes @angryblacklady.blacksky.app.
