pardon the vent post but i just wanted to scream into the void and get my thoughts out somewhere, i would very much appreciate any advice anyone has

i struggle A LOT with understanding what people think of me/how they feel about me, been going through a lot of mental hoops as of recent after an ex basically hard wiring my brain into thinking i need to be constantly giving giving giving giving, with that giving never being enough.

i really really struggle to put myself first and usually just feel guilty saying no or i worry that setting boundaries will disappoint people. maybe this is just me recognizing my self worth. i never EVER expect anything in return when doing acts of kindness and its just finally dwelling on me

im naturally a giver, i gift stuff to people all the time simply because i want to see the people around me happy, of course though this can always lead to a downside that people just become accustomed to my kindness and or take advantage of it

sometimes i feel like all i do is give to people, and in doing so its just leading to a lot of emotional exhaustion. i do all that i can to make sure those around me are shown that they are appreciated loved and supported that i always forget to do that for myself.

hurricane gonna hit later tonight, im pretty much in the right center of it. should be fine, only flash flood warnings and a possible tornado warning. some areas around me had to evacuate but we didnt so hopefully things go well
