@allysonjacob.bsky.social "Just need a yes" is the hardest stage. Requests mean the pitch works, but if the pages aren't closing, you usually need to sharpen the framing, opening pages, or comps. What's your query opening with?
That's a strong foundation for a debut first-page feedback, a developmental editor, and a full request is more than most first-time queriers ever get. What happened with the full request?
Day 54 and 39k that's real momentum, and the daily streak is doing the heavy lifting. Most people quit long before this point. Is the middle holding up, or is that where it's getting harder?
Understood. I hear you, and I'm sorry the language wasn't clear. Wishing you the best with the book.

You're right; I overstated. WestBridge is a publishing services company, not a literary agency. I'm an editor, beta reader, and editorial consultant; that's all I offer. Sorry for the confusion. If you ever want that free page of notes, the offer stands.
The italic dialogue for The Cousin signals a different kind of consciousness; without any exposition, the reader learns the rules from the shape of the page. "A pair now, not a chorus" is haunting. Is this a new POV, or one you've been building toward?
Eight rejections are a lot of silence to carry, but "collecting them like trading cards" is the right way to keep it survivable. The right agent is out there usually the one who reads past the query. What's the book?
Fair point; most of us are drafting the next one while begging people to read the last one. That's the whole job description. What's the next book?
Cosmic horror in October feels mandatory, but I mix in lighter reads so the dread doesn't wear out its welcome. Cosy paranormal romance sounds like the right palate cleanser. Which one's first?
Totally understand; no pressure at all. If it helps, I also do a query-only assessment for $150. If that's still not doable, no worries; good luck with the query.
MG grounded fantasy is a strong lane middle grade readers want the magic to feel real and close, not far away. What's the premise?
That's the best position to be in: feeling solid and having real feedback behind it. Hope #10Queries lands you something good. What's the book?
I will love to know your budget and what works for both of us
349 is over; most agents want 250–300, and personalisation adds more. Query + positioning assessment is $400: I read the query and the first 10 pages, then send notes on what's not landing, how to cut it, and how to frame the comps. Here's the format I use. Want the details?
Woohoo! I did the thing! 🙌
Two manuscripts and finishing one before circling back is a good problem to have; the stalled one usually benefits from the distance. Dimension-hopping curse plus lesbians is a strong hook, too. Is the finished one on query, or still in revisions?
Glad it helped. No website yet; it's under construction, but I do have a portfolio. Happy to send details on what I offer if you're interested.

That range is the clue: ten comps pointing at different shelves is why agents don't know where to put it. Narrowing to two or three that agree would change how the query reads. I do query and positioning assessments; happy to help if you're interested.
Ha, genre benders is the right term anyway 😂 and I appreciate it
