trans women are so awesome, what do you mean someone has a shop site with exactly two items on it for sale: a home electrolysis device and a thinkpad nubbin chastity cage

learning incredible things from this 1989 computer shopper, like how there was a time when the term ‘tower’ to refer to a tall PC was the subject of a trademark claim, so this other company released a PC called the skyscraper

Components and construction As the name implies, the American Research Corporation 386 SkyScraper is a tower con-figuration computer with an Intel 80386 CPU running at 20MHz. There is a slightly cheaper 16MHz version of this same computer which has been avail-able for a while. Computer manufacturers have to be careful about the use of the word lower' as NCR (who ?) is currently claiming that this generic word is a trademark to which it controls the worldwide rights. Anyone offending by call-ing their upended machine a lower' is likely to be served with a writ, hence the rather more cumbersome 'SkyScraper' name adopted by ARC. A photo of the Skyscraper. It is a PC.
