Despite Rae's many flings and FWBs, this is what he hoped to find again. A connection to and with someone he trusts entirely, one that goes beyond the physical, consuming not just his body, but his mind, soul, and heart. Oh, how cheesy he finds it. Oh, how much he loves it. (2/2) 🎨: misfitlunatik
the surface, he broke his oath and swore a new one whilst also promising himself to atone for the atrocities he committed. He held true to this, though he soon found that killing on the surface was at times inevitable—especially to protect people. He died at 342, regretting many of his kills. (2/2)
things I've taken out or added for my fic too, simply to shape it to my tastes but also to make it less game-like. There are no teleporters, Rae's pact works a bit differently, yadda yadda—there are many more things, but this is what mostly comes to my mind rn. Anyhoo, thanks for reading! 👍 (6/6)
4) I did not make the companions get their abilities and powers tadpole'd away as I really dislike the lack of explanation for this, and how it seems to only apply to them but not to enemies. Gale lost his powers, though I explain this as being due to the orb. 5) There are a lot of smaller (5/6)
for however many in-game days you need. Rae's version of the adventure starts on 20th of Mirthul (May) and goes on for approximately four months. 3) Seeing as vampire lore is a bit all over the place in DnD, I Frankenstein'd vampire "rules" and mechanics together from many different sources. (4/6)
answer except that most people said, "Whatever you want." So... he just turned into an almost carbon-copy of his father to piss his mother off and make her want to kill him as soon as he popped out of her. Oops! 2) The story of Baldur's Gate III starts on 20th of Eleasis (August) and goes on (3/6)
adhere to canon as it can sometimes be... lacking or confusing or plain stupid. I do it too, with some parts. As for Rae and his backstory as well as his canon BG3 story, I changed only a things from canon lore. 1) When researching what comes out when an elf and a drow have a child, I found no (2/6)
This, unfortunately, caused him to forget the majority of his father's teachings. He's been relearning how to channel this magic, and while he is getting better and better at it, he often finds himself frustrated with how much more stubborn and volatile it is compared to his warlock magic. (3/3)
Aside from that, Rae possesses innate magic inherited from his father, who was a rather talented (Divine Soul) sorcerer, yet he was never too fond of using his magic outside of convenience. While Rae's father taught him the basics of this magic, Rae's enslavement forbade him from using it. (2/3)
Letting his guard down fully is difficult, as is being compassionate. He thinks it makes him too soft, that it is a flaw he needs to control more and better, rather than something admirable like his father made it sound. That said, he unfortunately must admit that it feels... warm and nice. (4/4)
loyalty or trust or clemency, for example—or to manipulate others. Alas, it is due to this rather cynical view that Rae finds it hard to trust people. When he does trust someone, he shows them an unrivalled amount of compassion though, if rarely ever completely open and honest. (3/4)
More often than not, however, he views compassion as a liability, one that can be easily used against him. And often was during his youth. Through his mentor Rainier and the other foul people that worked under him, Rae quickly realised that compassion is best used as a bargaining too—to buy (2/4)
There are two pairs—gold and silver—and are in the shape of Eliza's rose tattoo. *Very* coincidentally, this blacksmith is also the one Rae frequents for adult toys. At a later point, when they're alone, he'll present himself to Eliza with a new collar—with the very same rose symbol on it. (2/2)
