Certain crimes did have a statute of limitations. That's why they formally indicated the sky jacker DB Cooper even though they didn't know who he was. A formal indictment meant that they statute of limitations did not apply. Thus they could prosecute him whenever they caught him.

@plotlesspodcast.bsky.social I have this idea for a novel. And I'm working on the world building because I have a character I think is cool but have no idea what f'n plot to place him in. And, yes, the novel needs a plot. Even a nominal one. He has a specific job that requires him to do something.

Not sure I do. I absolutely hate writing the first draft. I find writing the first draft excruciating. Maybe it's because I know the first draft will be 💩. So once I have the 💩 down on paper, I can deal with it and find ways of making in better.
