My perspective is that this is running pretty much exactly the way I'd expect it to run for any other litigant. Contempt holdings are really rare, even when there's obvious contempt. And, here, the lack of prior written order makes it hard to say there was true contempt in the legal sense.

Contempt findings are rarer still. Lawyers getting jailed for contempt is even more uncommon - you really really have to work to pull that one off. The administration has burned through its goodwill. It's basically being treated like any other litigant right now.

I want to add one more thing to this - Y'all, real courts aren't like movies or TV shows. Getting punished for contempt is a lot less common than you would think, even in fairly blatant cases and even in private party litigation. Sanctions are rare, at least outside discovery disputes.
