This was a tricky one, but I learned a lot about grass and hair.

Thanks to my bro @harsulin.katharos.group for doing the person modeling!

Finally made it home.

#MYSTober 2026 #8 Reunion

I only joined Bluesky because I started doing ATProto development. But I'm not really a super social media-y person.

Hopefully the way out…

#MYSTober 2026 #7 Cloak

A render of a statue of a cloaked figure with a sword set into a stone wall above a pedestal with a book on it and two braziers beside the pedestal.

What keeps your device running? Probably the little software package of some unpaid developer from Nebraska (to paraphrase xkcd).

@zicklag.devOct 7, 2026, 11:06 PM

"placeholder", just like the original meaning behind PLC. :D

One day is really not a lot of time to get a 3D scene out. I will almost surely not be able to keep up, but the time constraint is pretty interesting for forcing me to try and get a feel without being able to perfect things. Also doing patience without showing a person was hard to figure out. 😆

@zicklag.devOct 7, 2026, 8:43 PM

This might take a while…

#MYSTober 2026 #6 Patience

Render of a stream, with a bottle and a note on the railing: "Still alive. Please send help soon. Bring linking book."

There is also a bottle in the stream.

Hopefully it's safer inside.

#MYSTober 2026 #5 Earthquake

Render of rocks falling onto a path leading to a metal double door with light on the inside.

Really appreciate the free assets from @polyhaven.com for these scenes.

Thank you folks!

@zicklag.devOct 4, 2026, 4:32 PM

Figures there's no linking book. Might be here a while.

#MYSTober 2026 #4 Journal

Render of a crate with a journal and a candle stand on it.

Yeah, the @colibri.social folks ran into this too. There's an open Blacksky PDS pull request that should fix it.

That dagger makes a great lightning rod.

#MYSTober 2026 #3 Storm

A render of lightning striking a monstrous Moiety dagger in a storm.

Catherine _inspired_ the Moiety.

LOL, my bro asked me what the prompt for day two was and I said "inspire". He was like: do you mean "in Spire"? 😏

I wrote a post on whether sandboxing is enough to contain rogue agents. blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2026/09/30/i...

I made a #MYSTober feed so that I could pin it to my Bluesky sidebar.

So far it's just all MYSTober posts chronologically, but I might try to make it more probable that posts with more likes will float to the top or something like.

Just trying this out as an experiment and seeing what happens.

We have released a new version of
@iroh.computer.

Nothing major in terms of features, but we did manage to significantly reduce the binary size.

So now my entire embedded device zoo is running on iroh from crates.io. No more patch needed.

It's not _that_ special. They couldn't go public with it and still keep the cat in the bag.
