This National Coming Out Day, we remind all of our LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends and loved ones that we support who they are — exactly how they are.

We went from sanctioning Russian oil to buying it in three weeks. Instead of ending his disastrous war in Iran, Trump is now funding Russia's war in Ukraine. We used to hold dictators and autocrats accountable. Now our president negotiated a deal to fund Putin's unjust war.

We have to put an end to it, and hold those responsible, accountable.

Yesterday in New York, ICE agents shot yet another person. This time, while his on 5-year-old child was in the same car. From coast to coast, ICE's brutality continues to traumatize our communities. This administration is using your tax dollars to implement their violent anti-immigrant agenda. 🧵

This brave whistleblower has exposed another dangerous abuse of power.

The FBI was ordered to investigate Californians exercising their First Amendment rights. Ordered by the Trump White House. And federal resources were diverted from cases involving drug trafficking and violent crime in order to further the administration’s cruel agenda.

They hope to deter Latino citizens from voting with these awful tactics. They must not succeed.⁩⁩

A father dropping his daughter off at college. Dozens more Californians separated from their families. This administration is not done pushing their destructive immigration agenda, backed by court-allowed racial profiling, and utilizing ICE agents armed to the teeth by your tax dollars.

I hope for the sake of our sailors, Marines, soldiers, guardians and airmen that this new deployment of Californians does not repeat the hardships of the Abraham Lincoln.⁩⁩

Only last week, the USS Theodore Roosevelt and its carrier strike group left San Diego. All signs point to its crew being relief for a beleaguered force still deployed in the Middle East.

Not just for the sake of the higher costs this war has imposed on the American people, but for the sake of those servicemembers who have paid an even higher price. Those who have been asked to miss holidays, birthdays, births and weddings for nearly a year in order to sustain this war of choice.

As we welcome them home today, and we hear more of those stories of hardship and sacrifice, I hope these heavy burdens resonate through the halls of the White House and the Pentagon. With no clear objective and no measurable progress, this war must end.

The crew of the Abraham Lincoln has faced long and grueling shifts, diminished supplies and even mental health crises. Those burdens of such a long deployment have been shouldered by the crew and their families back in San Diego.

In the time these men and women were deployed as the tip of the spear in the Iran war, they worked tirelessly. And that service took a heavy toll – a price we have come to know through harrowing stories shared by family members and even the military's own leadership.

And today, for the first time in 10 months, they return home. They hug loved ones. They sleep out of harm's way.

321 days. That's how long the USS Abraham Lincoln and its thousands of servicemembers have been away from their families and their home port of San Diego.

With the support of the White House and both sides of the aisle, and from the unions and the moviemakers who deliver the magic to our theaters, I am hopeful we can finally get this done.
