You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
It’s not to say all critiques are bad, but some people approach it more as a realm of one-way personal expression than a space to act, grapple, discuss, support, change, and improve. It helps to be grounded. Are real solutions/alternatives offered? Is the expectation perfect or human? Etc
Sometimes people over-personalize choices and certain critiques can come down to a saviorism view of politics. Imagine a chess board well into a game. Your team has far fewer pieces and you are surrounded, but still in it. Your moves are more limited. You can get mad at that, or change the board.

I believe only the author of the bill can invoke the privilege to trigger a vote. I’m not 100% sure why it hasn’t yet. Could be there’s some leverage going on there while DHS is shut down and negotiations are ongoing, but that’s just me speculating. I’m ready to vote. Keep in mind GOP have majority
I think a LOT have been moved to the abolish position. For those wary, it’s usually rooted in 2 things: 1. The word “abolish” 2. When public sentiment snaps back (as it has before) they do not want to be accused of eliminating all enforcement I try to speak to both these points and it’s helpful.

I’ve thought about some form of this. I also communicate in a variety of mediums and have tried to think of a way to share it all in one place, or if that is even necessary in the first place

Local zoning is the way! A lot of these are being stopped or stalled by neighborhood organizing. These warehouses often need to be purchased, permitted, approved for occupancy and specs. Each one of those steps can be interrupted. Ppl are pressuring corps not to sell, counties to deny permits, etc
I don’t believe I’ve attended a Trump SOTU since 2020. I refuse to legitimize him with my presence.
Answered this elsewhere (check my replies tab) but the back and forth on input with this has been helpful in considering some new approaches here.
The House GOP is definitely okay with it, sadly.
I also appreciated my conversations with SPD members that see the moment & are pushing for evolution and change. Their position is not easy. No one faction alone can do it & everyone has a role to play. Made me curious about the upside of more precise, cross factional but values based relationships
I appreciated how De Linke has bona fide economists, supported experts, and political leaders to articulate how to enact their prescriptions in the complexities of the real world and markets. People can agree or not but it’s more grounded than a lot of internet-based political culture and grievances
I was encouraged by how strongly the sentiment was shared that the right must be defeated. There are real and justified grievances, not to be brushed aside. But the shared sentiment was real. I did not get the same punitive vibe that some have in the US about wanting the right to win out of spite
It was striking how precise the parallels were w/ struggles of US Dems+left. While much discourse focuses on failures of individual leaders, the replication also points to more systemic patterns. Good news: solutions can be replicated. Hard news: needs more than just a new face, but a new approach.
Reading people. Body language. Knowing how to connect with people totally unlike you and with different backgrounds and beliefs. Defusing tense situations. Gaining trust. High endurance, pain tolerance, and work ethic. Reaction time. Prioritizing order of execution. Anticipating people’s needs. Tons
I like this idea
