Reading the scores and the comments, I am unsure as to why this only scored an overall 80%. Sure the #Zzap! lads have their own take on it and it is an essentially lefty-righty run 'n' gun, but either the first four catagory marks are too high, or something else went wrong. Sound 98%..?!??!! 😱
I think it is safe to say that the #Zzap! Chaps were not really taken with the whole concept of the game. The score for the 64 is low - it is a far better game than that... It really does look fantastic.
The lads over at #Zzap! Towers were suitably impressed with Z and lavished a very high score of 88% on the game. 1985 Ladies and Gentlemen... 1985... Crazy. Also, FYI, the Zzap64 website has had a revamp. Go take a look. I am unsure if I prefer it or not!
#Zzap! issue 70 and a 78% score for a crap £20 cart game is, well, it's just bonkers. It might be better if you play for a bit longer than 10 minutes, but... It really needs to!
Issue 53 of #Zzap! and both the 64 and its big sister received a SIZZLING 92% score. I mean, it really is a phenomenal conversion on both machines. Cracking job and one of the best games made, even if it is a simple platformer, for both computers.
#Zzap! in issue 80 (surely close to a switch up to Commodore Force..?!??!) gave the game 83%, which is a very respectable score indeed!
< killed just as you are leaving a screen by an incoming Grem. And that is just one thing. MC's SID ain't up to much, but else, the game is lovely and interesting. #Zzap! thought not & slapped a 38% mark on the C64 and 40% on the Amiga in a half-page evisceration.
Issue 2 of #Zzap! and the White Wizard is getting all serious. This actually reads like a game that I want to play. So I shall.
#Zzap! were none-too-fussed with the conversion in issue 22, awarding it a low 45%. Apparantly there is a US version of this game (this is the EU/UK version) - can anyone locate me a copy..? It is meant to be BETTER, for one, but I also need it for a video series!!!
#Zzap! issue 34 and a proper half-page review for a proper old school game. 63% is a little low, but the game is a little clunky.
Check out the #Zzap! review from September 1989. 75%. Fine. But lo! What about the 64's BIg Sister? 34%. Shoddy. Apalling scores here. Why? Also, having listened to the C64's title SID whilst writing this post, it gets *so* Ninja... I mean... Whatever...
Very early #Zzap! (issue 7 to be precise) offered a faux-research paper 3 half-page "review" quite astonishingly awarding the game 98% for "Sound"... Still, it is a nice review and well put together, back when, in my opinion, they cared much more about it all...
Issue 545 of #Zzap! and the crew, many of which would soon be oiver at CF, we are raving about this.
#Zzap! reviewed the game in issue 21 and fair hated it. £10 for this is a BIG ASK!

Sometimes, all we have to go on is a nice loading picture. This #C64 clone-a-tron seems quite nicely put toghether, but, I need to wait for @fuzzweed.co.uk to return to Fripville as it is 2-PLY only. However, it seems like a perfectly lovely duos Bat 'n' Ball game. No #Zzap! Pon!
#zzap em all...
#Zzap! actually thought it was alright and gave it a pretty average 70% mark. I am not sure. I just don't think "trying to control the bouncing ball correctly" makes for a fun gaming experience! 😂
