Defeating Carock in #Zelda2 The Adventure of #Link! #NES #YoutubeShorts www.youtube.com/shorts/lhDqV...
Firebird is dangerous but if you follow the movements along with the dropping flames and cross at the edges it's not too bad.
Dark Link is very challenging. The best way I've found is to not get fancy and just be relentless!
Zelda is awake! Hyrule is safe!

Outside the chamber of the Triforce. We're as ready as we are going to get because there's no way back anymore!
Either Ganon will be revived this day or Princess Zelda will awaken!

We've reached the Great Palace which is a hazardous route itself. The palace is ominous with new music and a large mazey layout. Worse it offers little reprieve in terms of healing or magic recovery. I recommend farming simpler enemies for magic containers as needed.
This is a fun boss fight with Barba, a multi-segment dragon.
You can just stand over a pit and stab. You'll take damage but if you are close enough to the edge you won't be knocked into lava.
Now onto the last dungeon to retrieve the Triforce of Courage!

Here's the spot that gentleman was referring to. Rather obscured until you use your hammer to clear the trees and find the hidden town. Very tricky in a very dangerous area.
Inside you are taught the spell "spell." Yeah. It's a magic word.

Eventually you find a town at last for a breathers...
But you are instead attacked by invisible monsters. The only opening is to another basement with another wiseman who cryptically tells you to find something east in the woods. That doesn't narrow it down much!
This is a rather challenging but memorable section for Zelda 2 that opens that last region of the game. It's repeated as an endurance test as is finding any safe haven on its far side.
Gooma is the next boss to suffer their demise at the hands of Link. It took me a few swings to realize the toes are the weakness!
Interestingly enough Gooma is only in the Western release of the game. The Japanese version featured a boss rematch here.

Running on fumes again after a long stretch...
It occurs to me though that I wonder if a major factor in this games' reputation for having an unfair difficulty is because players are unaware of these wonderful magic refill containers hidden in statues and dragon heads and such.
This is the path to the hidden heart container that NPC was referring to before. Once you have the boots that let you walk on (shallow) water you can find a path that veers off the route to the palace and nab another hidden heart container.

Carock, a rather overgrown wizrobe, met his demise on his own reflected magic. This brings an end to the 4th palace. 3 more to go!
Incidentally I think you can just crouch in the corner and reflect his magic that way 100% safely too.

How about you jump in a hole, kid? I'm out here trying to save the world and this is the thanks I get?!?!
Oh you are giving me a hint? Oh uh... sorry... my bad...

Not really a secret but you can talk to this critter in this house if you are persistent about it. The heart referred to here is probably one of the hardest to find in the game.
