#WritersCoffeeClub 10/10: Do you have a guiding principle as a writer? What is it? (Or why not?)
It’s not a question I’ve ever asked myself, but that might just mean that the ‘principle’ is something I’ve…

#WritersCoffeeClub 10th Oct ~ Do you have a guiding principle as a writer? What is it?

I suppose I just want to tell stories that I enjoy and that other people will enjoy. And maybe throw in some learning opportunities, for myself and my readers.

Do you have a guiding principle as a writer?
Not in the sense that it guides me in any particular direction, but if I had to identify something like one, I'd say "always be trying something."

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct 9: How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

Not much, since I have faced it. Mostly I would like "author" in my obituary. I hope I get there.

#WritersCoffeeClub for October 9. How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

I've been focusing my writing on middle aged characters for the past few years (after YA and even a children's picture book).

I love dealing with the baggage of a lived life plus the hope of second […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 9. How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

I am writing the human condition, strictly from my POV. Life is finite, this ride is going to end one day? Absolutely a part of the story.

Death, as grim as it is, has a presence. I am, after all, not immortal […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/9 How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

Eh... It doesn't. I'm here to write fun stories that are purely entertaining for both myself and my readers.

I don't let myself get deep.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/9 How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

Apart from writing expert articles in the industry, I had abandoned writing for many years. Now, at the age of 60, I feel an urge to write again. However, writing a good novel still takes a lot of time […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 9/10: How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?
My sense of mortality is pretty acute these days. Life is short, but it’s all there is, so make the most of it. It’s a big part of what impelled me, first, to shift my…

#WritersCoffeeClub 9th Oct ~ How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

I've never really given this much thought. If pushed, I suppose my sense of mortality is coupled with a sense of absurdity, which fuels my writing.

#WritersCoffeeClub for Oct 9. How does your own sense of mortality influence what you write?

I have no children of my own, and I admit that see my books as a legacy of sorts. The Brothers Grimm are still famous, more than a century after death. And I hope my books on German folklore will be […]

#writersCoffeeClub 8. Tell us about someone who supports you on the sidelines.

My husband.

What he means to me, to my process, and my peace of mind cannot be explained. He is my refuge when the process has been mean to me, and the one I turn to when I want to celebrate. When my mind is tangled […]

Definitely not my cat. She is evil in a cuddly way.

Many people are supportive. They let me talk about my WIP without their eyes glossing over.
