This were some great ideas for how to use technology in more than just whole group opportunities. #wpued540

Technology has become such an important part of our daily world. Places such as public libraries provide those access to those who might not have the opportunity otherwise. I wonder what this would mean for students who use the library to complete assignments? #wpued540

Agree. The learning goal should be the first thing to consider. In my K–1 SPED class, AI serves as an aid, but not the creator. AI can create image aids or simplified instructions for my students, but I always verify its accuracy. When do you think AI would be useful? #wpued540

I love this! Even my kindergarten SPED students can do PBL, where we create a classroom garden and students reflect on their learning through drawings or oral communication using the Seesaw app. Voice is important for all ages. Have you used PBL with your SPED learners? #wpued540

Open culture starts small. A first grader's drawing improved draft by draft with "kind, specific, helpful" peer feedback. I'll try this with plant and bug drawings in my K–1 SPED science class. #wpued540

Learning first, tech second. My goal isn't "use an iPad." It's "describe what a scientist observes." Seesaw helps because nonverbal students can draw and others can talk, so every child shows their thinking. #wpued540

Seesaw + SAMR in K–1 SPED science: photo of a leaf = Substitution. Add a voice note = Augmentation. Families comment = Modification. Kids make a video to teach others = Redefinition, Bloom's "Create"! #wpued540

As a parent of a child with dyslexia, I have always been told by doctors that it is a school problem. As educators, we can support students, but we can not diagnose. Many students may lose opportunities to gain supports that could help.

As educators, we need ways to engage students and help them prepare for the real world. PBL and other innovative models can help students demonstrate what they've learned. As teachers, we must help them believe that their voice and learning matter.

One thing I am learning is that students need different ways to build their math skills. I found a resource from The Math Learning Center about building math fluency without relying only on memorization. They also have free online tools!

One resource I enjoy using in the classroom is Kahoot! It is a fun way to get students engaged while reviewing what we have learned. I can use it for math, Spanish vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I also love that students can learn while having fun! #wpued540 kahoot.com/schools/

I had never heard of this app and found it has some good reviews for Kinder.

I was just talking to a colleague about this! Having a specific time that we HAVE to have students on technology for has never felt great.

Wow! Pediatricians asking for tech devices to be removed out of the classroom! I do not know?

Thanks for sharing! Phonics Hero looks fun for practicing letter sounds. For my K-1 SPED students, I'd use short sessions plus picture cards. The study I shared found a balance of choice and teacher direction works best. Do students get to choose their own games? #wpued540

Great find! I posted about Book Creator too. For my K-1 SPED students, the voice recording is the best part: kids who can't write yet can still be authors. I plan to make class visual recipe books in cooking. Have you tried the Read to Me feature with your students? #wpued540

Check out Phonics Hero! Fun for our struggling readers and free for teachers! #wpued540

Thank you for sharing, VILLAGOMEZ! I teach K-1 special education, and I think I could adapt this with picture choices so my students who don't read yet can use it too. Have you tried it with younger students? #wpued540

Choice making is a skill we can teach! Simple ideas for young kids with disabilities: task order, marker color, snack. Small daily choices build self-determination. #wpued540 www.unr.edu/ndsip/servic...
