#WordWeavers 10/10: What is one thing your antagonist genuinely admires about your MC?
Well… since the demise of Perriad there’s been no one in the series who could really be called an ‘antagonist’. In the current WIP you could label…

It's a letter from his coworker addressing his need to update his wardrobe. She didn't send it because she knows he doesn't like disco. She still does.

Honestly I haven't figured out in The Trovador how the letter to Marya from her father *was* delivered or whether it was definitely meant to be. I should work […]

Dear my successor.

OMG - I am so sorry. It is all going to suck for you.

#WordWeavers 8. Which character is most likely to make a terrible decision for a very good reason?

I love this question!

Prefrontal Cortex is the undisputed champion of good reasons. Incidentally, they're also the heavyweight champion in terrible decisions.

To be fair; decisions is their […]

Which character is most likely to make a terrible decision for a very good reason?

For characters in The Source of Fire I can make a 2x2 matrix:

* Good decision, Good reason: Aena

* Terrible (as in, legitimately terrifying) decision, Good reason: Celandine

* Good decision […]

Other than the author? The mad scientist's helper. He is just trying to keep the scientist as sober as possible.

#WordWeavers 8/10: Which character is most likely to make a terrible decision for a very good reason?
In current WIP, which concludes the series, it has to be Wandell, who’s accepted that his (and his parents’) long pursuit of the Skilthorn estate…

#WordWeavers Oct 7: Share a line of dialogue that tells us everything we need to know about a character's personality.

From Cantata Deeps, Anselm explains his selling technique.

Text reads:
Anselm chuckled. "Ah, my lad, my lad. What is truth, hey?" In response to Cello's frown, he added in a more serious tone. "Something destroyed the freighter. Was it a gas leak? Maybe. Was the captain old and crusty and set in his ways? Most likely. Most of them are." A little smile directed towards Pettrie. "Did I ever claim my story had anything to do with those sensors? I did not. The young man asked and I raised my eyebrows and glanced towards them, and they all assumed that it did. People want to believe, lad. They want to think the universe is filled with tidy narratives, to feel the breath of the divine, and touch wonders inexplicable."

#WordWeavers Oct 7: Share a line of dialogue that tells us everything we need to know about a character's personality.

This is from quite early in my upcoming book 'Management Apologises for the Inconvenience':

#writersofmastodon #author

“The ghosts are nothing but figments of your imagination, I tell you,’ Prefrontal
Cortex declares confidently and raises their voice a modicum so that they are heard all over
the Mansion. ‘They are fantasies, they can’t hurt any of you.”

A memo rattles through a pneumatic tube clinging to the walls of the office and
materialises on Amygdala’s desk with a burp, signed The Gut Staff.

Bollocks. /TGS

Prefrontal Cortex picks the note up. Frowns, eyes momentarily lost to the ceiling
cornices, contemplating the collapse of civilised memo etiquette. ‘Unfiltered notices?
Really Gut? Didn't we discuss this?"

That distracted him from the realization that he missed the signs Sophia was giving him last night.
He had been endowed with the mental antidote that left him oblivious.

#WordWeavers Oct 6. What is considered completely normal in your story's world that would seem bizarre to us?
