Liv Monroe, is a fierce Fire Elemental Witch and Ex-Assassin. ARC avail Sept 10! Full Review in ALT TEXT @lamcbride.bsky.social @3pomeranians.bsky.social

Liv Monroe, is a fierce Fire Elemental Witch. When she was only 16 years old, an evil devious vampire lured her into an apparent blasphemous blood magic that triggered her arrest. She was forced to become an assassin, slaying and slaughtering, for 10 hellacious years in the obscure organization, the Shadows. Finally redeemed and released, she purchases an abandoned warehouse, formerly known as the Stitch Witch, in West Bottoms, Kansas City, The first floor is a silent shuttered shop, perfect in her mind, for a Magic store. There is even sufficient space for a small apartment . Finding a pilfering packrat in the walls, she adopts him as her familiar, Bandit. Trying to be a serene simple shopowner, she joins a coven with her elderly "aunts", and teaches fire hula hooping courses at night. But bodies begin to appear, their veins full of Nectar, the magical drug that triggered her ten-year sentence. Humans at first, but then targeting Supes. Liv feelings of guilt won't allow her to sit this one out and Rafe Blackwell, the alluring attractive and angry wolf burdened with ensuring she behaves properly, is hard to avoid!! But she is unable to ignore vicious vampires abusing assaulting and attacking witches in Kansas City, even if her fire magic is failing her. Can Liv use her Shadow skills to discover the vampire and demon drug-runners? Will she stay a step ahead of Rafe and persist in her probe? LA McBride is a fabulous fantasy author and an auto-buy for me! The world building and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance is Chef's Kiss! Fire Marked is the first book in the Alchemy of Witches series. A fast-paced urban fantasy with a witch ready to burn down the establishment, and quirky found family! 5 Fire Marked Stars!!
