If you're in the Boston area, or want to join by Zoom, I'll be talking about Lydia Maria Child and Jane Addams on pacifism Monday 9/28 12:00 EST at Harvard--really looking forward to it!

Had a glorious day visiting Concord's transcendentalist sites last week. Highlights: the new Margaret #Fuller statue and swimming in a windswept Walden Pond, complete with whitecaps!

And just to repeat: studying women philosophers is not special pleading, it is better scholarship!

Great news in history of women in philosophy--new book by Alison Stone on Julia Wedgwood, whose "law of imperfect antithesis" is a fascinating alternative to mainstream ethical theory. To me, Addams' philosophy of education is both inspiring and intimidating. A vision to strive for! Sending energy and all good wishes to all teachers this year.
