OC-tober Day 9: Themes/Symbolism

I hit a minor block while drawing this one, while also being out most of the day. So I just strong-armed myself through it before the day could end.

#Art #Doodle #DnD #OC #bweirdOCtober #bweirdOCtober2026 #Wolfthekid

A colored digital doodle of my character Asuna, with a few floating heads — including her with flaming hair and her friends Chesten and Reamp — surrounding a title that says "Asuna Sato" with the subtitles "Oni" and "Barbarian"

Below it is a text box that is titled "Legacy, Worthiness, & Opening Up," which includes the following paragraph:

The years following her mothers turned Asuna into a recluse, stuck in a vicious depressive cycle of wanting to do right by her family but feeling too unworthy to adequately do so. To give her a small push, one of her few close companions — the lord of the town she resides in, Ronvol — asks her to journey to Daggerford to set up relations to help in the ongoing orc war. She ends up trapped in the mists of Barovia when trying to fulfill this goal.

Throughout her time navigating this domain of dread, Asuna slowly grows closer to the people she surrounds herself – namely Chesten (the son of the lady of Daggerford) and Reamp (A Dhampir who asked her to act as his bodyguard). A reoccurring theme has Asuna open up, discovering who she is and forming close bonds to people she’ll grow to cherish.

During this period, Asuna discovers that the ring she inherited from her mother was actually a powerful Oni artifact from the goddess Izumi. It was entrusted to her family, and when they passed, she inadvertently became its new guardian. She is continually tested by Izumi and others who doubt her, grappling with feelings of unworthiness and legacy. With time, however, she gains Izumi’s blessing to be its guardian proper while coming to terms with her self doubts.

OC-tober Day 8: Relationships

I couldn't decide which couple to do, so I did all 3 I have (Cal and Akuma are not my characters).

A colored digital drawing of 3 pairs of characters, with their names listed near them. Wolf and Alice are on the left, Asuna and Akuma in the middle, and Mara and Cal on the right.

OC-tober Day 7: Backstory

Unfortunately I had to leave out some details to avoid having too much text.

#Art #Doodle #DnD #OC #bweirdOCtober #bweirdOCtober2026 #Wolfthekid

A colored digital sketch of my oni character Asuna sitting down with her sword tied to her waist and resting behind her. The drawing has her name "Asuna Sato" in bold purple letters, with the words "Oni" and "Barbarian" under it in red boxes. Beneath that is a box with the following text:

"Born in a small mountain village, Asuna lived a life of relative normalcy for her earliest years. She heard stories of her homeland from her parents, not understanding why they'd retire so far away. Her father was a renowned warrior, her family name was well respected. Maybe that's why they favored the quiet life — to get away from it all.

During the height of the war brought upon by Thordrok, the tyrant of the orcs, she lost her village and her father. Only a few years later, just as she was adjusting to life in a new home, her mother would pass away from an unknown illness. Wracked by grief, Asuna spiraled into a reclusive depression for many years. Her only friends were the son of the tavern-keep, and the town's lord — who went out of his way to look after Asuna following her mother's death.

With the only things left of her past life being her father's hunting blade and her mother's engagement ring, Asuna yearned to do right by their memory. She must stop the man responsible. She must kill Thordrok. Maybe then may she, and others who lost like her, could be at peace again,".

OC-tober Day 5: Personality

I decided to make a quick one for Mara!

#Art #Doodle #DnD #OC #bweirdOCtober #bweirdOCtober2026 #Wolfthekid

A colored digital sketch of my OC Mara Graves, clenching her fists that exude green magic. The image is captioned with the following text:

Mara Graves
Necrotic Sorceress, Evil (?)

Mara is cocky, devious, and sly. She has little regard for anyone but herself, and revels in causing chaos with her deathly magic. However, beneath all her crude gestures and acts of harm is unresolved self-loathing. She may be a selfish jerk, but the few that see behind her antics get glimpses that her heart. May not be as black as she makes it out to be.

For about a 4 year period between 2015-19, this Dragon Ball AU version of Wolf was the main version of him I drew. I wanted to try my hand at modernizing that old design again.
