Wede fermenteren: spannend! Er blijft een blauw laagje achter in de maatbeker, maar het water is nog niet heel blauw.... wel belletjes, een glanzend laagje op het oppervlak en het ruikt gefermenteerd... stinkt niet heel erg. Nog even afwachten..

SciArt September, Day 7: Woad. Woad is a plant that produces a blue dye. Since the prompts this first week are focused on color, I broadened my subject and went with a blue/green algae, or Cyanobacteria. This often produces toxic blooms on bodies of water. 🐡🎨 #woad #cyanobacteria
🎶What’s the use of shirts of cotton?
Studs that always get forgotten?
These affairs are simply rotten,
Better far is woad!
Ancient Britons never hit on
Anything as good as woad to fit on
Neck, or knees, or where you sit on,
Tailors, be ye blowed!🎶
Caucasus, Siberia, Central and Western Asia, it can now be found in Europe and North America, where it is sometimes deemed invasive.
Day 10 - #woad A yellow-flowered plant in the mustard family + the blue/grey dye it produces
Bharal, the “blue sheep” of the Himalayas. More goat than sheep, first learned about them when reading “The Snow Leopard” by Matthiessen
