Daytime scene on a sidewalk of an industrial street in a vibrant City, facing the old brick back wall of a warehouse where a very large, colorful, and fairly recent wild-style graffiti throw spans nearly twenty feet in width; we think the work belongs to a prominent local graffiti writer named SNED, and the bright orange scrolling letters of the work seem to confirm that; there is also a self-portrait of the artist wearing camouflage, Nike sneakers, a red Yankees cap, and pointing two spray cans with both hands; above the mural, a simple tag that reads "ACNE R.I.P." pays homage to a beloved member of the local street art collective named "ACNE" who has passed away; an old wooden pallet leans against the brick wall.

New York subway train April 1981. I didn't own a camera and took my sister's crappy old instamatic but that crappy old instamatic has given these pics a wonderful period grainy quality. The graffiti was still a relatively new phenomenon then and you'd still see the occasional clean train. #wildstyle
