View from up on Devil’s staircase. My sweaty sun hoodie drying on top of my trekking poles in the foreground. There was a cold wind going in spurts, so that I had to wear my rain/wind jacket. But walking up those stairs made me sweating profusely. Still, an easy hike compared to the Loch Lomond partSame view as before without my sweaty shirtLying in my tent at the last camp site. Never again! and: What hike can I do next?My final Bingo card. No full row, column or diagonal. Any of these would have completed a full line: Seeing a deer, having a hole in my sleeping pad, twisting my ankle, shitting in the woods (there are enough public toilets along the way), epic sunrise.

Drying my tent in front of a camping pod (another rest day)Clouds/Fog rolling in over hills in the background. Dark green trees and the Scottish Highland grass in the foregroundSome other hills wrapped in Clouds/fogWas lucky. Wanted to send most of my resupply box back to my last hotel in Edinburgh. The post office in Bridge of Orchy just was open that day. Picture shows the opening hours: Only open on Tuesdays. The lady in the post office was super helpful. She had just arrived at the community center , which doubled as post office (on Tuesdays)

Drying my waterproof socks by shoving a bottle (M!Go, thanks Miranda) with hot water into the sockJust some text as image (sorry, German): Was ich vermutlich beim nächsten Mal ändern würde: 1. Zweites Paar wasserdichte Socken (oder doch wasserfeste Schuhe, die über das Fußgelenk gehen) 2. Anderes Kopfkissen? Ich brauche manchmal alle Kleidung in der Nacht. Kann also nichts über den 'Luftballon" packen. Also ein anderes Kissen. Und ich brauche das tolle Zenbivy Kissen nicht, das eingehakt werden kann. Habe ich ohnehin so nicht benutzt. 3. Poncho. Muss ich ausprobieren. Habe ich wegen vorhergesagtem Wind verworfen. Aber bisher war ich sehr windgeschützt. Wird sich in der zweiten Hälfte ändern. Aber selbst die Menschen mit Poncho waren darunter ziemlich feucht. Austesten. 4. Doch die schwerere aber bequemere Luftmatratze. 5. Kein fucking Kindle im Ausland, der sich mal eben selbst zurücksetzt und keine fucking Bücher mehr lädt. Auf dem WHW kann man überall Strom laden 6. Weniger Essen mitschleppen. Zumindest auf der bisherigen Strecke habe ich nicht mal 1/6 dessen gebraucht, was ich schleppeMy amazing tent on an empty camp ground (I took a rest day). It’s the Durston X-Dome 1+ Pro, which I was quite lucky to get (this first drop was sold out in minutes)Did you know, I really like the Scottish landscape. Hills, brown-green colors. And blue sky (yeah, too many clouds)

Sundown at Loch Lomond. The sun is shining from behind some clouds. The small waves on the Loch have strong contrast caused by the light coming from behind. Some rocks in the foreground. The epic greens of Scotland. Every corner you see a different kind of green. The hikers are nearly invisible in the middle by the tall green scrubsAnd every corner a new stunning view. Loch Lomond seen from high up in the background. And the lush green if the hill in the foreground Just a hill. More brown than green grass. Blue sky with some clouds sprinkled in A shoutout to the Espresso at the Clansman. An unbelievably good Espresso (The best in Scotland, yet. And the best in a long time at a public place)

Heut morgen ging es nach dem Aufstehen direkt zum Bahnhof. Da haben wir uns erstmal im Bahnhofscafè das leckere Frühstück schmecken lassen (veg. Variante) und dann die Abfahrt des Hogwarts Express (aka. The Jacobite) bestaunt.
