A Greenfinch in the margin of the #Weedypond today.

An avian Autumn day at the #weedypond #wildlifeponds

Water Shrews - the UK's only mammal with a venomous bite. The poison in its saliva is strong enough to immobilise small fish, frogs & newts.
They had a good summer at the #Weedypond despite the long drought - their frenetic activity continually triggers the camera at night.

The #WeedyPond is continuing to refill - here's a quick view of some of the bird life this afternoon.
A Blackcap and Spotted Flycatcher pass through on their migratory passage.
It's not my aesthetic some might say, but the birds take it as they find it & it's always busy with avian life.

Hurrah for the #WeedyPond!
