Slide 2 of 4: A prefix is not the final check. A location can apply configuration based on a request URI or a variable value. For URI matches, NGINX keeps the longest matching prefix, then checks regular expressions in configuration order

Slide 3 of 4: Check the prefix and the slash. If the longest prefix has `^~`, NGINX skips regular expression and predicate locations. A slash-ending prefix using `proxy_pass` redirects the same URI without its final slash to the slash-ending URI with 301

Slide 4 of 4: Give `/user` its own rule. Configure an exact `location = /user` block with `proxy_pass` directed to the specified login target. That handles `/user` separately
