Dinkey Creek, California. Photo was taken during late June of 2017 and Dinkey Creek was roaring like all the streams and rivers of the Sierra Nevada due to the record snowmelt runoff from an enormous snowpack melting rapidly during the heat of June.

On this day in 1968, President Johnson signed into law the US Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The Deschutes was designated Wild and Scenic in October of 1988.
