I made this piece a few years ago and I’ve brought it out to be reworked on.
It’s about Coventina who is a water goddess and her well in Northumberland, England.
I’ve deliberately depicted an older woman as a goddess and her dragon which is underneath.

This is a textile artwork. It’s made with scraps of fabric embroidered together.
The image is of an older woman’s face with her grey hair flying and a watery background. She is my interpretation of Coventina, a mythological water goddess who has a well named after her in Northumberland, England. At the bottom of the picture is her water dragon. You can just see its nose. This is a textile artwork. It’s made with scraps of fabric embroidered together.
