Good morning, Jan @janjonesauthor.bsky.social & thank you. Yes, it is a lovely morning here in Dorset: I hope the same is true for where you are. Harking back to Spring/Summer here's "Littleton Panell" by Walter Steggles from his post-war work, most likely the 1970s or early 1980s. #WalterSteggles

With a cloak of autumnal mist here this morning I thought I'd start today & the new week with a great favourite of mine (& one that I covet deeply!!). This is "Essex Landscape, Early Morning" by Walter Steggles from 1938 (with the Chappel Viaduct in the background). #WalterSteggles #EastLondonGroup

Good morning @lakesstiles.bsky.social & thank you, that is most kind. Knowing of your penchant for gates & stiles, here's "A Wiltshire Gate" by Walter Steggles from his post-war work, most likely to mid to late 1970s. I hope you'll like it. #WalterSteggles #EastLondonGroup #SundayMorning

To conclude our "rarely seen" themed week here's "Suffolk Landscape" by Walter Steggles from 1931. Judging by the windmill in the background, I believe that this view was possibly taken near Belton (which was then in Suffolk) because Wally also painted "Belton, Suffolk" in 1932. #WalterSteggles

To conclude our watercolour themed week here's one that I've only shown here relatively rarely but it is a striking example of his craft by Walter Steggles. This is "Amberley" by him from c.1935/36. #WalterSteggles #EastLondonGroup

On day two of our watercolour themed week, here's another great favourite of mine which was painted whilst the artist concerned was still only 15 years old! This is "The Mill, Whitstable" by Walter Steggles from July 15th 1924. It is roughly only 6ins x 4ins. #WalterSteggles #EastLondonGroup

Following on from our accidental "rarely shown" theme here's one that I have shown here only very rarely in the past, for some unknown reason. THis is an untitled landscape by Walter Steggles that I believe dates to the late 1920s or early 1930s. #WalterSteggles #EastLondonGroup

I thought I'd start today & the new week with one that I haven't shown for a very long time indeed. This is "Dunwich" by Walter Steggles from his post-war work, very probably the early 1970 whilst he was living in Scole. #WalterSteggles #Dunwich #Suffolk #EastLondonGroup
