Medieval fresco of the Coronation of the Virgin in St. Andreas Church in Cologne, dating from the 13th century. Mary and Christ are seated at the centre of the composition. Christ raises his hand toward Mary in the coronation scene, while angels appear above them. Additional saints flank the central scene on both sides. The wall painting is executed in muted red, green, blue and ochre tones beneath a Gothic arch. St. Andreas is located in Cologne near the beginning of the Via Coloniensis pilgrimage route toward Trier. Mittelalterliches Fresko der Krönung Mariens in der Dominikanerkirche St. Andreas in Köln, entstanden im 13. Jahrhundert. Im Zentrum sitzen Maria und Christus nebeneinander. Christus erhebt seine Hand zur Krönung Mariens, während über ihnen Engel erscheinen. Seitlich wird die zentrale Szene von weiteren Heiligenfiguren eingerahmt. Die Malerei ist in gedämpften Rot-, Grün-, Blau- und Ockertönen ausgeführt und befindet sich unter einem gotischen Gewölbebogen. St. Andreas liegt in Köln am Beginn der Via Coloniensis, dem Pilgerweg von Köln Richtung Trier.
