I'm switching Razzopolis from Tyrano Builder to Ren'py and both engines have pre-built menus and settings, and while I could have opted to mess around with Ren'py's coding to remake the GUI I had in Tyrano, I opted instead to just make new GUI. Have some comparisons: #gamedev #indiegamedev #visnovel

screenshots of settings screens for a game. Top is Tyrano Builder, styled in blues, with round buttons that you select to change settings like music or sound effect volume. The background has a very faint eye-with-hands pattern that encompasses the whole screen.

Bottom is Ren'py. It's styled in dark purples with yellow-gold accents, with a side bar box with eye and hand motifs. An isometric view of the city is faintly visible in the background.two screenshots of a girl in a purple dress talking to a half-skeletal lady in front of a building. They're both showing menus of dialogue choices. Tyrano's are in rounded dark grey buttons, with the highlighted choice in a slightly lighter grey and the last button with a slightly different border. Ren'py's are in long, thin black boxes, with the text faded on the non-highlighted choices and a gold border around the highlighted choice. The last button has golden text.two screenshots of an in-game screen, showing a shot of half-opened eyes and a speech bubble with text reading "judgy, judgy! Do you really have that much of a choice?"
Tyrano's version has its in-game user interface, small square visual buttons, in the top left corner. The speech bubble is black with a white border and the text is left-aligned.
Ren'py's user interface is very subtle text at the center bottom of the screen. The speech bubble is pure black with no border, and the text is center-aligned.screenshots of main menu screens. Both prominently feature a dark purple and yellow-gold background featuring an isometric city.

Tyrano builder's has the huge "razzopolis" logo to the side, and in the center are round dark grey buttons with white text with "new game" "load game" etc.

The Ren'py version has the options in a sidebar, with an eye with hands motif, and more options. It lacks the Razzopolis logo, instead having it be barely readable text in the bottom left corner.
