#VirgilWare was the last Black person to be killed in Birmingham that Sunday. Sims and Farley were convicted of 2nd-degree manslaughter and sentenced to 7 months of jail, but had their cases suspended by the judge and changed to 2 years probation…for murder during an act of domestic terrorism.

Sims & Michael Lee Farley, who had planned to attend the rally, bought a “Confederate” flag & attached it to Farley’s scooter before riding toward a Black neighborhood. They saw #VirgilWare & his brother James riding together on a bicycle & Farley told Sims to scare the boys by shooting at 'em.

Facts: #VirgilWare, a 13-yr-old Black American boy, was unaware of what had happened at the church.
He was just riding around on the handlebars of his brother’s bicycle when he was shot to death by Larry Joe Sims.

Many are familiar that on September 15, 1963, the 16th Street Baptist Church was bombed and killed four girls.

But most of us are unfamiliar with two other racist killings of #JohnnyRobinson (16) and #VirgilWare (also 16) that same day. #BLM #Birmingham
