Across the street next to the downtown community garden. Not much going on in winter, including ice cream sales. 🥶 I do hope we get some good snow this winter.

Looking down on what was once a filling station. It has been converted into an ice cream shop, but closes in winter. The building and surrounding sidewalks and trees are snow laden. To the left of the small building is a snow-covered bench. Behind the trees is the barely visible top of the Lumberyard Arts Center, another historic building converted.

Rob's end of September challenge for #BirdOfTheDay is #BestOfTheMonth. Since most of the bird population has abandoned us in my area, it comes down to my morning #crows. 1) Murder and 2) Liftoff.

Three crows are standing on a sidewalk after the rain. Two are sipping water from a tiny puddle. The view is looking down from a second story window, and there are soft focus trees in the upper foreground. Monochrome photo. Two crows are at the top of the front facade of an old lumberyard turned art center. Only the upper portion of the building is visible, and has a few Christmas lights along the right edges. Left of center, one crow is standing on the facade while the other had just lifted off. Its wings are spread wide, and its legs are hanging down.

A lacy #sunrise this a.m.
#photography #ViewFromMyWindow #EastCoastKin #EasternKansas

Looking over the top of a long low building with trees and a cell tower rising above. The sun, in a bright yellow/orange band of color, is just up above the rooftop. As the sky fades to lighter blue, there are horizontal layers of puffy clouds in gray and rimmed with yellow edges.

Today's sunrise was overcast and drizzle. Oh, but yesterday...! 😍 Had a busy day and couldn't sort through until this morning. It was softly spectacular.

A golden sunrise of scattered nimbus clouds looking like puffs of cotton above a silhouetted landscape of trees and a smokestack. The upper right has a larger, dark cloud looming.A silhouetted tree and smokestack against a golden sky at sunrise. The clouds are softly layered in horizontal rows.

"Here comes the sun... 🎶"
Good morning from eastern Kansas.

The sun is just visible between treetops behind a long low building. There are two banks of scattered clouds, and they are filtering the light into a spray of rays reaching up and out. The foreground is black silhouette, and the sky is golden.

Photographed a lovely sunrise this a.m. before going back for my second sleep. A transition from deep purples, pinks, and oranges to soft blues and grays. As always, that tree and smokestack break the horizon and create a focal point. ❤️

Cotton Candy Sky this morning.

Quite the light show tonight! ⚡ I kept seeing what looked like a strobe light outside and realized it was a distant but very dramatic #thunderstorm. The #lightning was constant. Last minute #Stunday.

View over a small downtown in eastern Kansas. The sky is dark with intense highlights behind dramatic clouds.Behind dark clouds, a portion of the sky is lit up showing bubbly-looking cumulus clouds.More highlights in a dark sky.A wider shot of the sky above treetops. One very dark cloud looms close as a distant lightning bolt strikes the ground miles behind it.
