Sorry, Donald. I will be celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday. Columbus started the Atlantic slave trade, and never reached America, only the Caribbean islands. If anything, it should be Amerigo Vespucci Day. Vespucci literally put America on the map.

Over 500 years ago, Amerigo Vespucci returned from the Americas and wrote about the freedom of women and peoples he met! His writing were the basis for Thomas Moore “Utopia”! Vespucci’s book is not banned. But hard to find. Original letters best, as he was put in Index in 16th Century!#Vespucci

Why is Donald Trump telling us about something he did in March? Remember that Columbus started the Atlantic slave trade. Better he should celebrate Amerigo Vespucci, from which the name America is derived. Trump is respecting the wrong Italian.
