Aquilan spends quality time with Vaylin
-Blue-

But Vaylin… Vaylin was different.
Her wounds were deeper. Her memories darker.
Her heart more fragile. Aquilan saw it all.

She looked up at him, trembling beneath his hands. His face was so close—soft, gentle, moonlit blue. His eyes… the pale shimmering blue that never judged, never demanded, only saw her.

Her voice cracked, barely a whisper. “No, but…” She couldn’t finish the sentence. Her throat was too tight. Her fear too sharp.

Aquilan only nodded, his thumbs brushing the edge of her robe.
“I understand,” he murmured. “You know I won’t force you into anything. Not ever.”

Her stomach twisted. That’s what I’m afraid of, she thought, breath shaking.

Because he meant it. Because he truly would wait. Because he was giving her control—
something no one had ever allowed her.
