Black Redstart at Norwick Beach, the only one of the trip thus far. #UKbirding #Unst
PG Tips at Valyie this morning, typically not easy to get to grips with and to get an image was a bonus! #UKbirding #Unst
A mega male Hawfinch at Valyie, Unst yesterday, scrabbling around with the local sparrow flock on seed scattered on the track. #UKbirding #Unst
This juv Hen Harrier made a close pass as we were viewing the RB Shrike yesterday. Most likely the same individual that we saw on the opposite side of the island a week ago. #UKbirding #Unst
A bit distant but a great choice of fence post! #UKbirding #Unst
A bit of a grim weather day was brightened up this afternoon by this juv RB Shrike in Northdale, Unst. #UKbirding #Unst

I always like to do a bit in return when I stay on #Unst Yesterday morning we did a beach clean. When we're out and about we also remove any plastics caught up on the fences. So if you're visiting Shetland then why not just give an hour to do a litter pick in your area.
We’ve flushed this flighty Com Rosefinch three days running from a neighbouring garden before finally getting the camera on it this morning! #UKbirding #Unst
It was blowing a bit of a hooley across Unst yesterday, so was pleased to jam in on these two BB Sands hunkered down in a roadside field. #UKbirding #Unst
I do love a bluethroat and this one was a cracker #Unst
#Unst is the most northerly UK island and my home village of #Mulbarton is just on the outskirts of Norwich. Yet, I have far superior EE network up here and there are more streetlights.
No fair weather birding here on #Unst Surprisingly we had quite a productive day with pied fly, rb fly, bluethroat, blackcap, chiffchaff, redwing, brambling, song thrush, robin, arctic tern and a couple of otters.
Hen and Pallid Harrier both working the same fence line. #Unst #UKbirding
A few more migrants around today to keep us on our toes. This Barred Wblr up at Skaw and a flighty Rosefinch in our accom garden were the best we could come up with. #Unst #UKbirding
..at Vaylie #Unst Across the shetland isles birds have been found all day. Winds are stronger tomorrow so fingers crossed!!
Our accommodation on Westing beach #Unst is perfect, stunning views and plenty to watch. Even if its chucking it down outside we can sit in the observatory and scan the bushes in the garden, plus the beach and out to sea.
Here are some examples of typical areas worthy of exploring, all have the potential to hold migrant birds #Unst
