UP 2640 is a GE ET44AC. Reportedly it was built in 2015, builder's number 63548, from UP series 2570-2669, UP designation C45AH.

It’s already a diesel engine powered electric motor. When does the math make sense to go full EV?

You have coast to coast rail. Could pick up battery cars at wind & solar farms.
