@andymus.bsky.social has pointed out that my "Oak Hook-tip" looks more like a Spiny Hook-tip, which I wasn't even aware of and is extremely rare. Bigger than an OHT with a grey cast to the wing and different markings near the hook. #teammoth #ukmoths

Good night in Tilehurst last night: FFY Merveille de Jour 7 Green-brindled Crescent, Blair's Shoulder Knot, Clancy's Rustic, Deep Brown Dart, Beaded Chestnut, Cypress Carpet & Cypress Pug. #ukmoths #teammoth

Really surprised that even in my suburban new build in Chichester I’ve got to 100 species of moth in just a couple of months of trapping. And #100 was the best so far, a truly stunning Merveille du Jour! What a spectacular creature! #teammoth #ukmoths #sussexmoths

Last week my hubby found a pale tussock caterpillar. I’ve never seen one before. I was away from home, so he put it in tub with some oak leaves. Picture two is what I was greeted with when I came home. I still haven’t seen a pale tussock caterpillar 😮‍💨

Forgot the Deep-brown Dart from last night ... we've had a few of these in our road so I wonder if they are having a good year? #teammoth #ukmoths

Interesting catch in Tilehurst last night, amongst the Lunar Underwings & Square-spot Rustics ... a Garden Cockroach (Ectobius vittiventris), which seems pretty unusual this far west. #teammoth #ukmoths #cockroach #ectobius

"Found in my veg patch on Saturday! Crawled out from under my pumpkin plants! Had to Google to find out it was a Deaths-head Hawk-moth! Never seen one before."

Dark form of the Box-tree moth,
Cydalima perspectalis.

Found indoors this morning.

I don't expect the Box hedge outside the front door to last for much longer.
