Chapter 40
Not Only Fork Handles

It’s by an extraordinary coincidence that he should have been the last friend to see them together as they were en route to The Glen Mooar.

Kayt toys with the brooch on her new necklace. Holding it. Stroking it with her fingertips. Turning it over and over between her agile fingers and thumb, before letting it gently fall so that the cord untangles itself with the ease that high grade silk always does.

His face has a thoughtful expression with a hint of a smile. He’s wearing a plain white T shirt. AngryBard is rarely angry unless you interfere with his book reading habit.
