Dark text on a piece of yellowed parchment, surrounded by a compass, binoculars, and rope. Tenna and Spamton peek out from the edges of the paper, wearing pirate hats. The text reads:

“Spamton.” Tenna adjusted his tie nervously. “I called you in here today to discuss a very serious matter.”

Spamton helped himself to Tenna’s cigarette, smouldering in the ashtray on his desk. Smoke billowed out of his nose as he took a long drag. “[[Serious Business]], eh boob tube? Well, let’s [having] it.”

“As you know, September 19th is Talk Like A Pirate Day—”

If Spamton had a drink, he would have spit it out. Instead, he wheezed so hard he nearly inhaled the still-burning cigarette. Tenna leapt out of his chair and ran to Spamton’s side, snatching the cigarette away and smacking his back until the coughing had ceased.

“[10 cent],” Spamton choked out, “in what [[World’s Best ]] is [[YAARRRRR]] Day a serious matter?”

“It’s serious for our audience reach!” Tenna exclaimed. “This is a BIG DEAL online! MILLIONS of people celebrate it every year!”

“He’s lost it,” Spamton mumbled.

“I have not and here’s proof.” Tenna grabbed the laptop Spamton had given him and opened it up, pointing to a web page with a long list of increasingly specific national “holidays.” Talk Like A Pirate Day was highlighted as a feature event for September. “Listen, Spam, days like this only come around once a year. Think of the advertising potential! We can do themed ad breaks, themed programming, hell, I can even have the Pippins whip up some new outfits. You love outfits.”

The look Spamton gave Tenna could have peeled the makeup off a clown. “I absolutely do not [l0v3] outfits.”

“You liked the outfit I wore for you last week...”

“At home! In [Private, Keep Out]!! In the bedroom!!! That’s COMPLETELY different—”

“Come on, Spammy, lighten up a little! We’re a couplea guys running TV programming for kids. Kids love pirates. End of story. We’re doing it.”

“Then what was the [[Get to the point]] of bringing me in [hear] for a [srs] discussion??!”

“I wanted to work on it together,” Tenna pouted.

“Well, count me out.” Spamton spun on his heel and turned to leave.

“Not even if I let you be the captain?”

Spamton paused.

“Think about it,” Tenna grinned, borderline seductive. “Long red coat, gold detailing, knee high leather boots, a sword on your hip and a gun in your hand. Perched on top of a matching red Cungadero...”

“You and your fucking outfits,” Spamton grumbled, no heat in it.

“Is that a yes?” Tenna wheedled.

“...fine. But ONLY if Big Shot Autos gets to be the [XXXclusive] sponsor. If we’re [[Doing this]], we’re not [0.5] assing it, capiche?”

Tenna’s grin lit up the room. “Done.” He shook Spamton’s hand, once — firm. “Now let’s get to costuming, they need new measurements.”

“[U] were going to do this [weather] or not I said yes!!!” Spamton squawked.

Tenna giggled and pushed a spluttering Spamton out the door.
