Screening children for trauma can be costly, confusing, and time-consuming without the right tools. The Child Trauma Screen (CTS) changes that.

Learn how you can implement the CTS in your setting—and read the FAQ and peer-reviewed studies supporting it—at https://loom.ly/WrOJWLk

What is the Child Trauma Screen (CTS)?

A brief screening measure used in a variety of child-serving settings to identify children who have experienced trauma ➡️The CTS supports children ages 6-17 who have experienced trauma and simplifies the screening process for child-serving professionals. It is:

• Brief—includes only 10 items
• Free to use
• Based on empirical research and evidence
• Available in 6 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Dutch, and Swedish) ➡️The CTS is used in diverse settings by anyone who works with kids.

• Appropriate for use by clinical and non-clinical staff
• Flexible format: self-report, in-person, phone, or telehealth.
• Used in children's behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice, pediatrics, schools, and more. ➡️CHDI developed the Child Trauma Screen in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and Yale to:

• Encourage widespread trauma screening
• Reduce barriers to screening, including cost, time, and expertise
