Month of darkness prompt 1: The world you left behind.

Decided to try and join in on #monthofdarkness , and write poems for the prompts.

Perched, legs dangling over the edge I see them walk the same path Trace the steps Right to the spot Nights upon nights They scramble, search Interrogating the very dust, as if it were to speak And i… just watch, silent, broken In 30 minutes they will collapse. One comforting the other. The emotions range Rage, at the fact this is fruitless Grief, at the fact this is fruitless Hope, at the fact this is fruitless It stings all the same When it ends with them screaming my name.

I decided to go to the Ohio Ren Faire today to take my mind off everything that's been happening in my life the past month.

It was a beautiful day, although a bit hot in the direct sunlight.
