Watching #TimeTeam.
They’ve found some bones.
Tony: I know you’ve only got a few small pieces of bone, not can you tell anything about the person?
Me: yes, they’re dead.

Morning peeps, sincere thanks to all of the #TimeTeam team, both at the dig and the podcast. It was a lovely atmosphere and fascinating to hear the latest on our medieval malandry. #Lincoln #leperhospital

you know how you hear a song on a British archeology show and you wanna download the song so you dive into the composer’s discography available online and find maybe every song but the cool cowboy one you wanted to hear again? #timeteam s19ep8 😭😭

S11-Special - Sheffield, South Yorkshire

#TimeTeam get stuck into some urban archeology, digging the foundations of Sheffield, once Britain’s “Steel City”. Tea (presumably a Yorkshire blend) makes an early appearance at 3m 38s, but beer has to wait until 47m 35s - with less than 2m on the clock.

@buchanan.todaySep 23, 2026, 8:46 AM

To be fair, there *may* be alcohol in these polystyrene cups at the 23m 47s mark, but nothing indicates there is, so it hardly counts as evidence. All in all, Season Eleven of #TimeTeam has been pretty sub-par from an alcoholic perspective.

S11-Special - Loch Tay, Perthshire

The #TimeTeam get lost and meet a bunch of folk digging up a wet patch of Scotland in search of a submerged crannog (which I’d suggest is basically a contradiction in terms). No one is carrying any drink though, so it’s a dry old 49m 1s episode we’re all in for.

S11-Special - Ightam Mote

Not a dig so much as a guided tour around one of the few remaining buildings in the UK to show signs from all the phases of its seven centuries, from the medieval onwards. And a dry tour until 48m 31s, when Tony (but no other #TimeTeam member) gets a posh drop of red.

S11-Special - D-Day, Normandy

Following the Dorsets’ attempts to capture Point 54, set back from the beaches of Normandy, this #TimeTeam special runs for 49m 10s, but the rum ration appears to have been misplaced; a squadie gets a glass of something at 47m 47s, but none of the diggers see a drop.

S11E13 - Cranborne Chase, Dorset

Chasing a Roman villa, the #TimeTeam find Iron Age and Bronze Age remains into the bargain, but no beer to wash any of it down with - just a disappointingly dry 47m 07s episode, with a lot of men lying down, and a noticeable surplus of chickens.

Bless #TimeTeam for continuing to be a chill, welcoming show

S11E12 - Roxburgh, Scots Marches

Mick jalouses “we could be here for thirty years” as the #TimeTeam stert howkin for the auld, C12th burgh o Roxburgh.

Gin sae, it’d be a thirty-year drouth, for there’s no a Scots pint, a tappit hen, nor even a mutchkin o ale in the hale scrotchin’ 46m 55s ploy.

S11E11 - Ipswich, Suffolk

Back-garden archaeology is all well and good (in this instance, the #TimeTeam are in search of a Roman villa) but what about back-garden drinking? It was looking unlikely (and S11 has form in that regard), but we were saved by a couple of cans of Stella Artois at 32m 18s.

@buchanan.todaySep 16, 2026, 11:31 AM

S11E10 - Nassington, Northamptonshire

The #TimeTeam dig up the floor of a posh old biddy’s living room in search of King Cnut’s hall; a man makes awful noises with a series of reeds, and we finally get a drink at 46m 27s, with just 38 seconds left on the sundial.

@buchanan.todaySep 15, 2026, 11:38 AM

S11E09 - Wittenham Clumps, Oxfordshire

Digging in and around an Iron Age hill fort, the #TimeTeam find themselves up against a colony of great crested newts, which have legal protection, and hinder the dig no end. No newts is good newts, but no “pissed-as-a” either - 47m 5s of … sober-as-a-newt?

@buchanan.todaySep 13, 2026, 11:34 AM

S11E08 - Goldcliffe, Severn Estuary

The #TimeTeam are up to their oxters in mud, digging for Mesolithic relics on the shore of the Severn estuary, but for all that it’s a water-logged task, we’ve to wait until the mock feast at 46m 11s to find any grog. It’s all wet feet and dry throats otherwise.

@buchanan.todaySep 12, 2026, 12:57 PM

S1107 - Oakamoor, Staffordshire

Searching for both an Elizabethan and a medieval furnace, the #TimeTeam dig up a family garden, but while they might well have found the remains of a bloomery, there’s no blooming drink in the whole 47m 13s episode. Where have all the pints and pubs gone??

@buchanan.todaySep 11, 2026, 12:40 PM

I confess, when the cameras zoomed in on this find, I thought it was a carved head. It turned out that was just a random, unremarkable rock, and the find was a tiny thing beside it. Come on, I can’t be the only one who sees the face of a #WeepingAngel, surely? We missed a #TimeTeam #DrWho crossover!

@buchanan.todaySep 11, 2026, 12:32 PM

S11E06 - Green Island, Dorset

Searching for an Iron Age trading centre on a small island in the middle of what’s now Poole Harbour, the #TimeTeam find a picnicking family with grog at 25m 19s, and wine at 30m 3s, but none of the *team* get a drink in the whole 46m 55s episode. Most unsatisfactory.
