ICC ice cliff collapse/ #Thwaites etc is incoming - we may well see heat dome spikes of +27°C over the Antarctic summer - at 1.7 degrees above baseline freezing, glacial ice turns to splitting compact play dough - and this and AMOC collapse are the very least of humanity’s problems.

Anfang August geschah etwas Ungewöhnliches: Mitten im antarktischen Winter, als die #Meereisdecke eigentlich wachsen sollte, ging in der #Amundsensee eine große zusammenhängende Meereisfläche verloren. Genau dort liegen die Küstenbereiche vor Thwaites und #PineIsland
